If there is one thing that you feel living in India, it’s that you can travel in time – even within just one block. You can find someone using the most ancient water irrigation system right next to a place that sells sangria blasting Justin Bieber. You can find cutting edge public transport information technology right next to a, uh, cow? mule? ox? It makes planning things for work and even everyday life so different than what I grew up with. In my current job, I had to sheepishly ask a coworker how we categorize types of city transport when preparing for a program (i.e. bus, train, bicycle), and how you would classify the above picture. My boss suggested, “Other.”
