This is my second time coming to the state of Jharkhand.  The first time the place definitely caught my attention, with these deep red and green hills and kind people – but this time I really became more enamored with it.  The land is incredibly fertile, but has a lot of development challenges as compared to other Indian states.  We are funding construction of a rural road that connects over a dam outside of Ranchi, which we passed over today.  The view from above it has been a big highlight of my time thus far in India.  And I’m glad I get to share a little of it with you :).
