Sunset in Shillong, India

DSC_0034

I’m up north in Shillong, India this week for a rural road development program – and it wasn’t the easiest place to get to. We flew into Guwahati, and then traveled by car for four hours on not the best roads (but they have vastly improved I hear) to get here. It seems like a totally differnt country – cool and lush, full of mountains and scarves, and very removed from Delhi.  People here told me that after the summer monsoon rains, the entire area is overflowingly green (and peak tourist season), so if you get a chance to come during September-October I’m sure it would be amazing.

  1. Oh I just love your photos – they always allow for a mini vacay from my office desk. Thank you so much for sharing with us! Hoping you can enjoy your trip even if it is monsoon season.
