DSC_0434  {Fresh cut lemons on a fun cutting board from Fab India}

I can’t say enough about lemons in South Asia.  These small, fragrant fruits are the most powerful lemons I’ve ever had. They go great in everything – from lemonade to noodle soup, and you can get a dozen for just pennies. I’m hoping to try to use them to make lemon bars this week for a dinner party.  The smell of cutting them for this picture was even entoxicating!

{South Asian Lemons have thin, potent skins. You can zest (or delicately cut) the yellow rinds for flavor in cooking, which are particularly good for baking.  But be sure to only use the outer yellow layer; the white part of the rind is bitter.}
